Senior Scientist, PhD, Nini Pryds appointed Head of Programme in the Fuel Cells and Solid State Chemistry Division

Nini Pryds, age 46, is to head a new programme, TEK (Thermoceramics), which aims to develop and design a prototype of a magnetic refrigeration system. Also, there will be development of new thermoelectric ceramic materials which can be used to produce power from waste heat, for example in connection with fuel cells.

Since 2003 Nini Pryds has been leading Risø’s research within the area of thin film deposition, including complex oxides for SOFC (solid oxide fuel cells) applications. He has also worked on the modelling and characterisation of nano-materials.

Nini Pryds has been educated at the Ben-Gurion University in Israel and at DTU. He was employed as a PhD student in Risø’s Materials Research Division in 1994. After graduation he got a postdoc position at Risø, and in 2000 he became senior scientist.
