Left to withdraw support to UPA by July 10

NEW DELHI: Left parties will submit by July 10 to President Pratibha Patil their letter withdrawing support to the UPA government, says Forward Bloc general secretary.

The decision by the four Left parties to withdraw support to the Manmohan Singh government was a unanimous one, says Debabrata Biswas.

Biswas said the decision by the four Left parties to withdraw support to the Manmohan Singh government over the nuclear deal row was a unanimous one.

Congress had on Friday rejected the deadline set by the Left parties to the UPA government till July 7, to clarify on whether it was going ahead on the Indo-US nuclear deal.

Congress had said that sovereign governments or political parties cannot be subjected to deadlines.

The party had also thanked the Samajwadi Party for extending its support to the nuclear deal.

Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party General Secretary Amar Singh has confirmed that his party will support the government on the N-deal.
